The LFH name has its root in a moment of levity, light and joy with friends (that resulted in the purchase of the domain to continue the joke).

Two years later, it feels right for a endeavor that feels full of light and joy.

Quality Experiences.

A consistent and high quality experience for both instructors and the participants is paramount, and that’s why tech support is built into our model. We seek to remove all the burdens of logistics from instructors so they can focus on what they do best, create and teach.

Inclusivity.

Putting yourself out there at studio is a significant barrier. LFH encourages people to approach this in three stages: 1) Join a class with video off 2) At a future class, turn video on 3) Join a class in person and bask in the glow of accomplishment. For instructors, we hope to attract a breadth of looks, bodies, genders, personalities, styles.

Fair Pay.

We aim to find the perfect balance among: 1) Pricing that allows people across many financial situations to join 2) Pricing that teaches people to value the instructors and their content/service 3) A minimum for instructor pay that is fair (while always seeking to raise that minimum)

What qualifications are required?

You need to be someone who is already teaching in either a physical studio or online. In the future, we hope to allow those who want to get into teaching to use our services. You need at least a small following that you can encourage to book your first classes. This is to ensure that you feel successful from the get go and have some friendly faces as you work through the initial kinks.

What will be my employment status as it relates to Lemon From Heaven, Inc.?

As we get off the ground, you will be an Independent Contractor. See https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/self-employed-individuals-tax-center for more information on this status. We may revisit this in the future.

Do I have to teach the same format, style, content as what I’ve done most recently?

Definitely not! As long as you can demonstrate that you are qualified in that area, how and what you teach is all up to you. Now is a great time to try new things or resurrect content from your past!

How else might I benefit from being a part of LFH?

Two things jump to mind:

Opportunity for client cross-pollination across instructors and digital studios. We will encourage differentiation between classes such that people will want to take your class AND others, not OR!
A community of instructors to collaborate with and share common experiences. You will be connected to others via the LFH Slack Community.

Can I teach through other studios and services at the same time?

Within the agreement you will sign, we include this clause:

“Contractor reserves the right to concurrently provide the same or similar services to other businesses and platforms, whether they are similar in nature to LFH or not. Such concurrent relationships are not required to be disclosed to LFH, but LFH’s confidential information should not be shared with other businesses or platforms.”

Are there more details about what Fair Pay means for me?

We will work with you determine the appropriate pricing for the services you’ll provide. The following fees will be applied to each paid booking:

Fee instituted by payment processor: 2.9% of amount paid + $0.30
$1.00 fee for general costs to run the business
$0.35 for LFH Tech Support team and expenses
$1.00 Assistant Fee (for assisted classes only)

So, as an example, the group classes offered on our site that are $12 per class, and the instructors receive $9 of that.

What is an assisted class?

For every class you offer, we will always:

do an audio and video check with you before each session.
check people in and let them into the video call from the Waiting Room.

For assisted classes, your LFH assistant will:

stay on the video call for the entire class
watch for latecomers and help participants with any technical issues during the class
monitor the chat and get your attention if someone has a question or comment
control your music, including sound levels and reacting to your cues to pause/change the music.

Do I need my own insurance, licenses and certifications?

Yes. You agree to obtain and keep in full force professional liability insurance covering all of your services and LFH is not responsible for verifying that this obligation has been fulfilled. We will do our best to refer you to vendors that can help you with this if needed.

You shall also maintain any relevant required licenses and certifications.
